How do I find inspiration for my poetry?

I’ve read so many beautiful poems, but don’t find it easy to put so much depth and emotion into my own.
Where do you go to find such inspiration?

i find i get a lot of inspiration from looking at pictures.
simply looking out of your window can help you. take in the world around you.
try going to deviantart.com and looking through some of their stuff. there are so many talented artists on deviant art so it’s very likely some of their pieces will inspire you

Travelling to places I’ve never been has always worked for me. Meeting new people, experiencing life in ways not normally seen on a day by day basis works too. Then having a bottle of good wine near my keyboard with some music in the background.
To me the poems that have such depth come from within, the experiences you have had.
To you they may not have a lot of emotion and depth, because your trying to make your own poetry exactly like theirs.
Let someone read your poetry and ask them what they think.. and tell them to give you honest answers… how did it make them feel? and so on… I’m sure your an excellent writer, but looking for an inspiration isn’t the way to do it.. you are the inspiration and what you write is beautiful!

Sometimes, its good listen to classic music, walk to the beach, make love…
i get my experiance from my life, my kids, anything really. I am suffering with depression at the moment, and (unfortunately) that gives me lots of inspiration, but they all tend to be be depressing poems(see my poems).
If anything good or bad happens to you, or there is a subject that you feel strongly about, they could all be inspiration for a great poem.

Try not to search without, it will come from within as you live, breathe and absorb the love of God around you. Let Him be your guide.
