What is good motivation to start working out?

I have no problem once I get in the middle of my workout. It’s getting off my butt to do it in the first place that has become my downfall. What is everybody’s motivation before they start working out?

Just think about what will happen if you don’t work out. You can imagine your self, a few years from now, sitting on the couch, sipping beer, flipping channels, and rubbing your beer-belly-going-on-huge-stomach. You just have to get up and DO IT! Think about the boosts. People will look and be like, whoah awesome!
Find a workout partner or join a fitness group.
Having others to help push you will really help.
Post a picture of someone with a great body on your refridgerator!! This worked for me a few years ago. Also results tend to make you want to do more. My suggestion…buy a Taebo workout tape. MAKE yourself do it for a week. You will see results if you do it regularly and then you will want to workout more!
I understand where you are coming from. I love the results from working out, but have a hard time starting. I drink a caffeinated drink about 20 minutes before I workout, and then start listening to some music on my IPod that gets me going.
Make it the number one thing to do before anything else - i.e. watching TV, running errands, shopping, etc. Whatever you favorite activitiy is to do, make it #2 after working out. That way you will “get working out” out of the way, and you can get on with your other activities, it works for me.
i check myself out in the mirror before i take a shower. if i can’t see a six pack i make a mental note to do some crunches when i get home, if my chest looks flabby, i’ll do some push ups.
Unfortunately, the best motivation comes when you get sick. The trick is to start before that happens.
If you start easy it is easier to start. then, like you say, you are in the middle and no problem.
If you lay off for more than two days, it is even harder to start.
You clearly know all the benefits in looks, the way you feel, etc. Those things are motivators.
For some, setting a definite time helps.
my motivation, is being fat. no one wants to be fat. plus i want to look good naked too.
For me, the biggest step was joining a gym. They’re taking money from my accounte very month, so I better get something backl in return. Once I get to to gym, seeing all the people working out and hearing the music on the speakers gets me pumped. Plus, seeing a few hot guys working out, doesn’t hurt! Haha! And of course, once I see the results of my workout and I notice that my clothes fit better AND people are telling me that I’ve gotten thinner, it definently pumps me up to want to keep to my workout plan!
Good Luck! :o)
Take a photo of you in your bathing suit and place it through out your house and where ever you spend most of your time. Then place a photo of your favorite celebrity body next to it. It will work.
