Who/What Has Been The Inspiration In Your Life?

In life, we always have inspirations. We get into bad places or we feel like failures and then we find inspirations that help us move on and up.

So who/what has been the inspiration in your life?

my best friend…Hes only 1 year older than me, but Ive grown up with him nearly my whole life…Ive always wanted to be like him, he always cheered me up and now we work in the same line of work..
My friend Alicia. We aren’t related at all but people call me her mini me because i look like her and i act like her when she was my age. And Also, Joan of Arc (i’m a history geek.) She Went from a french peasant to and english army captian. talkj about womens rights.
Growing up in foster care.I was very self aware at a young age,but I felt that I had been let in on small secret to the universe.
I had made so many friends and had so many brothers and sisters .There were bad times and good times, and i find that after it is all said and done,I would not ever change it for the world.
My mother. How cliche is that?
My mom committed suicide on September 27, 1999 after a 22 year battle with chronic depression and bi-polar disorder. She was one of those mothers that (when she was feeling well) she was so awesome. She let us make a mess and never got upset, let us stay out all day playing. She was a devoted wife and mother. She never stopped to think twice about telling me how proud she was of me. I heard it all the time. She was a martyr of sence. She would get all the meals ready for everyone else and not be able to eat until almost everyone else was done. She was very selfless. I think the most selfish thing she ever did was commit suicide. Even in that situation she was thinking of others (I know this is morbid, but she shot herself, and before she did it, she covered the whole area with blankets so there would not be a big mess to clean up).
She taught me empathy, sincerity, generosity, kindness, hope, friendship, truth, honesty, and most of all LOVE. I know that I have the relationship with my children that I do because of her. I never let my kids go a few hours without telling them I love them or giving them a hug or a kiss. If something ever happens to me, I don’t want them to ever question it. I guess I don’t feel like I told her enough.
It is my goal in life to have all the good attributes that my Mother did. I miss her terribly. I find the older I get, the more I am like her. Most people would be disgusted with that idea, but I am grateful.
several of them, begining with a Sikh from Pakistan who was attending the same college as my mother (i was 3 or 4), he was my friend, taught me how to skip rocks on a pond and talked to me about making my enemies my friends…i still think of that tall turbaned gentle man showing me how to find flat stones to skip on water…Pihendha was his name
another man told me that as long as there is breath there is hope…i was in my mid-to-late twenties then, but those words came back many times when i just wanted to pull the plug and i didn’t and things changed and life got better…
10 years later another fellow told me that i am a beloved child of God and that is who, and what i am and also my job description…to be loved by God…it took a while to understand that inigma but i think i am finally catching on to it (after 20 years) Mike was his name
then there was the artist in Denver, who showed me by example how a person could be o.k. with themselves and the world and still do their own art and march to their own music…infact a person cannot be ok without doing precisely that. (Renek Stevens is his name, he also inspired me to art, one who really stands out as an inspiration to do art).
