I struggle with a positive reward system and self motivation. Do you have any tips on how you keep yourself motivated to keep up with your responsibilities such as; school work, a job, relationships, exercising, and eating right? I just cannot seem to motivate myself to be consistent so I am able to reach my goals. Any stories of learning how to motivate yourself or tips will be appreciated!

What’s your motivation? What’s keeps you going when you sometimes do not feeling like continuing on? Do you have a goal you want to accomplish? Are you trying to impress a love one? Are you motivated for health reasons? Well, whatever your motivation is, let’s get motivated and let stay motivated.

Motivated people get things done. Motivated people do not procrastinate or hesitate when it comes time to do something. Motivated people are successful people and successful people are motivated people. You will never achieve success if you are not motivated. A person’s desire to be successful is their motivation. Money could be your motivation, fame could be your motivation or even wanting to help other people could be a motivation for you.

I believe that there is something that motivates everyone to do something whether it is a negative or a positive motivator. Positive motivation is what yields positive results and a positive lifestyle.

Self motivation is your ability to satisfy your desires or goals without having to be influence by someone else. Self motivation to me is the key to a healthy and successful life. Self motivation puts you in control. You do not have to wait on someone to get moving or get going. You encourage and motivate yourself. Self-motivation along with self-esteem is what leads to self-improvement. Self motivation helps you build your confidence in yourself. Self motivated people are the leaders of the pack. Self motivated people run and own the companies your work for and buy from. Self motivated people do not make excuses they make the rules you live by.

Now whether you need a little push to get going or not, that does not matter. What matters is that you get moving and doing something productive in life. Motivated people live longer, healthier and successful lives than procrastinators and complainers. “So let’s get motivated and stop complaining!”

Employee motivation can be an easy task especially when the team leader demonstrates the appropriate disciplines. The simple disciplines encourage employee motivation to happen naturally. The wonders of “monkey see, monkey do” approach.

Motivation, whether it is self motivation or employee motivation, is the trigger to act. The factors involved to personally motivate and to inspire are not necessarily the factors that motivate all individuals or that lead to overall employee motivation.

No one can conjure up the means to motivate you, only you can discover the best methods in which to motivate yourself. Employee motivation comes from within the individual.

A good and well equipped team leader will demonstrate the appropriate behaviours and create an environment that accentuates employee motivation.

There are two types of self or employee motivation: External and Internal

External employee motivation comes from awards, bonuses, titles, promotions, money, etc. These are motivators commonly referred to as the hygiene factors. Unfortunately these external motivators do not last and are not a good source for employee motivation.

Let’s pretend we are a team and we had a great year. We decide to give everyone a $5,000 bonus. Everyone is happy and employee motivation is at an all time high.

A year goes by and the organization did not have such a great year and may be considering laying off some team members. Compared to the previous year, what will the employees expect in terms of a bonus and how will this impact employee motivation?

Certainly disappointment is eminent and employee motivation will flounder. In order to maintain the current employee motivation, the organization would be expected to offer the same bonus as or higher than the previous year.

This is not possible and decreases employee motivation. I draw your attention to the old donkey and carrot story. External employee motivation is never lasting.

Team leaders should focus on the alternative, internal employee motivation. Employee motivation, like success, grows from the inside out and not from the external to the internal.

In order to understand internal employee motivation you need to understand yourself and trust your abilities to carry you forward. This is a key factor in building employee motivation.

What do you want to be, to do or to have in life? Combine your dreams with passion and you will be self motivated. A solid foundation for employee motivation.

Internal or self motivators enable you to demonstrate all the appropriate behaviours. It is inevitable that a confident, hard-working team player, who recognizes the contributions of others and rewards them with acknowledgement, will pass on those behaviours. These positive behaviours will lead directly to employee motivation. As individuals, we reap what we sow.

As a team leader, if you are critical of yourself, you will be critical of others. This is not an acceptable contribution toward employee motivation. However, if you accept the abilities you bring to the table and recognize your achievements, you will be a good leader, a team player and allow your employees to do the job they were hired to do. Recognition for a job well done is strong employee motivation.

You may find it hard to believe but recognition is the most powerful employee motivation of all. Research has shown that there is a stronger need in society today for recognition than there is for sex and money. Now that says something about employee motivation.

Employee motivation is positive reinforcement. Positive reinforcement builds our self-esteem. Our self-esteem is depicted by the manner in which we see ourselves. We can either focus internally through our personal beliefs or externally by following the beliefs of others.

Employee motivation starts from within. Lead as you would like to be led. Allow the employee to do the job they have been entrusted to do. Give the employee the recognition for a job well done. Build a strong foundation of challenge, inspiration and trust. Employee motivation is an investment in people and in the company’s future.

Employee motivation equals better performance and a willingness to grow. The employee must earn the respect of others and trust their hard work will be acknowledged. These are the simple mechanics to building self-esteem and the key to success. Employee motivation is a giant step forward for any organization.

Let’s take a look at other forms of employee motivation. Be complimentary. All individuals strive to do better, to work harder and to learn more if they are complimented in front of their piers on a job well done. This form of employee motivation will in turn be passed on to others.

Employee motivation is focusing on individual strengths. Assign the employee a task he/she performs best. Employee motivation will be realized with enthusiasm and productivity.

Education is of the utmost importance with respect to employee motivation. Education comes in the form of regular team discussions, workshops and seminars. Employee motivation will be increased by sharing the ideas and visions for the future with them. They are enlightened by others striving to get ahead and to make a difference. Employee motivation takes a step forward toward accepting change and setting new goals.

Employee motivation should be exciting. It should bring on enthusiasm and energy. Employee motivation spells success if the foundation consists of encouragement, acknowledgement and enthusiasm. Employee motivation begins with You.

Employee motivation through recognition is positive reinforcement. Imagine the possibilities. The end result is happy, motivated achievers and a business operating with positive enforcements. The internal employee motivation creates the first wave to success and the external employee motivation follows in its wake.

Many times I’ll protect myself from being judged by others. I find it so hard to be myself sometimes. I’ll give up and ultimately become someone I’m not. How does one just let everything go to be his or her self? What is their motivation, what is their reasoning? How does one face his or her fears successfully?

If you’ve made the decision to get some weight off - congratulations! For many people, committing to their own fitness is the most difficult step. But in spite of self-motivation, many people discover they don’t know what exercises to incorporate for rapid weight loss.

There are three major sorts of exercise: aerobic exercise, such as jogging; flexibility exercises, such as yoga and other forms of stretching; and strength training, including resistance exercises and weight lifting.

Aerobic and strength training will help you work off the most calories. Because weight loss is dependent on either burning more calories or consuming less, it is best to concentrate on these initially to guarantee your self motivation lasts as you drop pounds.

Generally, thirty minutes of aerobic exercise three times a week is suggested. Increase the duration and frequency as you progress.

But many people whose self-motivation has gotten them to begin an exercise for weight loss program overlook the importance of strength training. Aerobic exercise burns more calories at first, but weight lifting increases muscle mass, and muscle burns more calories than fat. A pound of muscle burns 35 calories a day to function at rest; a pound of fat burns only two calories for the same function.

The fitness consensus used to say that to “build” muscle, you should perform fewer reps (3-5) with heavier weights, and to simply “tone,” higher reps (12-15) at lower weights was the best way. But there is no such thing as “toning.” Definition that happens with what is incorrectly called toning occurs because you have lost the layer of fat on top of the muscle, making it more visible. The size of the muscle underneath depends on how actively you train.

You must “tear down” the muscle so it can rebuild itself afterward. In fact, you don’t build muscle while lifting weights but you do in the days afterward when it’s “resting.” The general guideline for strength training is beginning with three sets of 8-12 reps at a weight that leaves you nearly incapable of executing the entire set. Then, rest for 30-60 seconds before attempting your next set.

Don’t be discouraged if you’re unable to do all of the reps on every set. In fact, use that to gauge when to add weight. If you are doing each set without any muscle strain, you will want to add weight.

Self-motivation got you to start, but most have a difficult time maintaining the pace. It helps to know that the source of our motivations is a belief. Think about it: If you didn’t believe the gnawing sensation in your stomach meant you were hungry, you would not feel motivated to eat.

Understanding what ideas motivate you is essential to losing weight, because when you feel powerfully motivated, you will exercise consistently. NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) is a form of self-hypnosis. And there are NLP methods that can build exercise motivation because, over time, desire to exercise for weight loss alone likely will not be enough to keep you going. Exercise hypnosis motivation therapy can help.

Your initial task is identifying the most important things in your life. We call these things your highly valued criteria. Highly valued criteria are usually intangibles: money would not be highly valued criteria, but the freedom, fun, or security that money can buy would be.

Next, establish what you need to believe to feel motivated to exercise. It’s vital to keep in mind that logic has nothing to do with belief. Things don’t have to be logical to believe them. You may find you already have a belief that opposes this new idea. That’s okay.

While understanding what motivates us is valuable, hypnosis exercise motivation therapy can put these ideas to work by ensuring self motivation lasts. Hypnosis for motivation does this by changing the computer codes in your brain, so you accept motivational ideas.

Belief systems are based in our unconscious mind, which is like a computer. Computers don’t have the ability to reason. The input controls the output. The methods used in exercise hypnosis motivation therapy can make you believe almost anything, as long as you are willing to believe.

You begin by making a picture in your mind’s eye that illustrates something you already believe, such as, “I love my children.” Then you learn to calibrate the elements or ‘Submodalities’ of that mental belief picture.

Next, you make a mental movie that illustrates your motivational idea. Let’s say your motivational idea is, “If I exercise, then I’ll look great and my marriage will get better.” Then you learn how to adjust the Submodalities of this mental image to correspond with the Submodalities in your calibrated belief picture. On the other hand, if a belief is holding you back, the same technique can change that belief to doubt.

Self hypnosis for motivation that uses NLP can provide you with something of an internal personal motivator. Using an exercise hypnosis motivation program ensures that the zeal you began with persists until reaching your objective, and then helps you maintain that objective.
